Nashville, Tenn. Aug. 23, 2010… Disciple will release their latest, Horseshoes & Handgrenades, on Sept. 14 with INO Records.

The newest project, Horseshoes & Handgrenades, was a collective songwriting effort for the band. The 12-track album is loaded with spiritual sentiments, spanning subjects as diverse as hope, redemption, perseverance and self-esteem.

The first radio single off of the record, “Dear X, You Don’t Own Me” is already No. 1 on the Christian Rock chart and No. 14 at CHR. The song comes from the perspective of a person writing an all-encompassing letter to pain, shame, hate and anger. “All of those negative things can chase us, this song says ‘you can chase me all you want, but I’ve moved on,’” says band front man Kevin Young. The single is also currently available early at digital retailers. “Shot Heard Around the World” is another battle anthem from the GMA Dove Award winners who are known for their tunes being supported by athletic mainstays ESPN, NFL, WWE, Speed TV and more. The empowering “Invisible,” which was co-written with acclaimed tunesmith Ben Glover (Brandon Heath, Fireflight), was inspired by stories of concertgoer’s struggles with cutting and suicide.

“Every time we write a song, one of our goals is how it will affect somebody, not just the lost, but believers who also need to be encouraged, guided and shepherded,” explains Young. “I feel like it’s very important for us to be honest in everything that we say and to create art that’s true to who we are to reach people as clearly as possible.”

In keeping with Disciple’s tireless touring movement, the guys are loading up their buses for a tour alongside Thousand Foot Krutch during the months of Sept./Oct then dates with Red and Brian "Head" Welch from Korn in Nov., followed by a European trek and a return to the States for a solo-headlining jaunt.

Disciple’s first release on INO Records Disciple (2005) brought home three No. 1 hits, while their sophomore album Scars Remain (2006) bolstered the band’s radio hit “After the World.” Disciple then debuted their third INO Records’ project Southern Hospitality (2008). Disciple has been nominated for a whopping nine GMA Awards including a win for “Rock Album of the Year” in 2008. Their hit single “Game On” received massive placement in sports shows across the country including “Best D*mn Sports Show,” NFL’s “Total Axxess,” WWE’s “Cyber Sunday” and Speed TV’s “Speed Report,” as well as in venues such as Wachovia Center in Philadelphia and even Madison Square Garden in New York City. The single was also used in promotion for CBS shows “Criminal Minds” and “CSI Miami.” In 2008, the rockers were tapped to perform one of the songs on “WWE: The Music Vol. 8” for WWE superstar duo Hawkins and Ryder. Most recently, XBOX 360 selected Disciple to join the ranks of Fall Out Boy, P.O.D., Gym Class Heroes and others by choosing the band for “Game with Fame,” a program granting fans the chance to play the band in Halo 3. Disciple is comprised of Kevin Young– vocals, Israel Beachy- bass, Andrew Welch- guitar, Micah Sannan- guitar and Trent Reiff- drums.
